Itinerary
Hochiminh city tour & Cuchi Tunnels
Our tour guide & driver will pick you up at around 8.00AM at your hotel or residence in Saigon and start the day with a tour to the Former Presidential Palace and the War Remnant Museum, from there on you will be able to explore all the major sights of Saigon on foot such as: The Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (Formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and the City Hall.
Afterwards we continue to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, which were an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the long struggle for independence. The complex system of underground tunnels contained innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a feel of what underground life in the American/Vietnam war must have been like. We should be back to Hochiminh city at around 5PM where your tour ends.
Trip note: War Remnant Museum is only suggested for those who are really interested in seeing the Vietnam/American war through the eyes of the locals. Sensitive and graphic photographs, infantry weapons, and even a guillotine are on display.
